Yuanbo Garden

Xiamen Yuanbo Garden, with a full name of Xiamen International Landscape Expo Garden, is the place where the 6th China (Xiamen) International Landscape Flowers Expo was co-hosted by the Ministry of Construction of the PRC and the people's government of Xiamen in 2007. Located at Xinglin Bay, it occupies a total area of 10.82 km², including a land area of 5.55 km² and a water area of 5.27 km^2  .

Following the school of Chinese classical park, and based on the modern park style, the Yuanbo Garden has built ten parks, including North China park, Jiangnan park, Lingnan park, ethnic custom park, international park and Fujian and Taiwan park. Each park has its distinctive characteristics.

Gulangyu Island

Gulangyu Island is a national class tourist attraction which consists of the island itself and scenic spots such as Sunlight Rock, Shuzhuang Garden, Memorial Hall of Zheng Chenggong, Piano Museum and Birds Park and has become a unique and famous tourist attraction of natural and cultural landscapes in China.

The main scenic spots: Sunlight Rock, Shuzhuang Garden, Haoyue Garden, Yuyuan Garden, Gulang Stone, Gulangyu Piano Museum, Memorial Hall of Zheng Chenggong, the Underwater World of Xiamen and the natural bathing beach, etc. Integrating historical, cultural and natural landscapes, it's a national tourist attraction and ranked top among the "top ten" scenic areas of Fujian. With the development of Xiamen, various tourism facilities of Gulangyu have become increasing complete, making it a comprehensive sea-island scenic and cultural tourist attraction integrating sightseeing,holidaying, tourism, shopping, leisure and entertainment. On May 8, 2007, it was officially approved as a national 5A tourist attraction and was selected by the journal of National Geography as the "top of five best urban areas of China".

Ancient fort at Huli Hill

The ancient fort at Huli Hill is a national class cultural relic protection unit, located on the protruded part of the coastal cape in the southeast of Xiamen, close to Xiamen University, which is a product of the Westernization Movement of China. Built on lunar March 8 of the Guangxu 2nd year of Qing dynasty (1894 AD), it's well preserved with a gate, a wall, a tower built with quality granite, a moat, a military camp of Qing and artilleries, which is a precious historic site for the study of China's history of coastal defense, history of Westernization Movement and construction technologies of military architectures. The Krupp artillery at Huli Hill has ever been certified as "the most ancient and largest coastal artillery of the 19th century existing at its original site in the world" and has won a Guinness World Record award for best projects.

The artillery occupies more than 70,000 ㎡, the fort covers 13,000 ㎡, which is divided into the battlement area, military camp area and back hill area, with a blind pass built inside and with structures such as revetment, ammunition room, barrack, official hall and lookout hall on the top of the hill. The structure of the artillery is semi-bunker and semi-city wall, displaying an architectural style of Europe and Ming and Qing dynasties of China.

South Putuo Temple

South Putuo Temple is located in Siming district, Xiamen, which dates back to the Five Dynasties at the end of Tang Dynasty and was originally called Sizhou Temple. In Kangxi 23th year of the Qing dynasty (1694), Shi Lang, an official of national defense reclaimed Taiwan and settled in Xiamen. He donated to restore the old temple and renamed it as South Putuo Temple. Located in Xiamen, the climate is mild, it's hot in the summer, with the temperature generally above 30℃ in July and August. Facing south, near the mountain and facing the sea, the temple's architectures along its main axis are in turn Hall of Heavenly Kings, Mahavira Hall, Hall of Great Mercy and Depositary of Buddhist Texts. The palaces and halls are ascending along the mountain in a clear hierarchy. The winding corridors ascending on east and west protect the two sides of the three palaces, making them integrated as a whole.

Wanshi Botanical Garden

Wanshi Botanical Garden, namely, the landscape botanic garden of Xiamen, is sitting in Wanshi Mountain in the southeastern corner of Xiamen Island. Built in 1960, the botanic garden occupies 4.93 km², which is the first botanic garden in Fujian and an important component of the national key scenic area of Gulangyu Island-Wanshi Mountain.

The botanic garden is one of the first batch of national AAAA tourist attractions and the only botanic garden built in the downtown area of a city in China.
